There are some dresses from Lilly Pulitzer that I just can’t get enough of – and the Beacon style is one of them! I wore this Lilly Pulitzer Beacon dress in Downtown Burlington for a shoot with Mdrex Photography, and it’s safe to say this is both my favourite dress and my favourite location!
I reached out to Magen for a shoot because I felt that it was time for a new ‘lifestyle headshot’ that I could use on social media and my website. I knew I wanted something near the water, so Downtown Burlington provided the perfect location. If you’ve never been, the waterfront has the most beautiful park and it’s never overly busy (compared to Port Credit or Toronto). Magen did such an awesome job with these photos, and I can’t wait to work with her again soon!
Choosing Burlington as the location also has a special meaning to me right now, since Paul and I have been very actively looking for a home to buy near Lake Ontario in Burlington. We’ve had our eyes on a few older homes that we can renovate (and even had one unsuccessful offer so far), and I’m hoping we find one soon because I’m so excited to plan out a renovation!
For this shoot I choose the Beacon dress in Tropi Call Me because I adore the blue and white print. I have this dress in four different prints, and love the fact that something this comfortable can also be dressed up with a pair of heels. Depending on the day, I’ve worn Beacon dresses with sandals, heels or boots – and I love the way they look layered underneath a puffy vest in the fall. It’s also the perfect outfit as we move into September, thanks to the 3/4 length sleeves.
The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale starts on September 10th, and I’m really hoping to find this dress in another print. If you’re going to be shopping the sale, be sure to head over to my Instagram page to check out the giveaway I’m running for a $400 Lilly Pulitzer gift card!
