Hotel Review: Marriott Waterloo St. Jacobs

Hey friends! Paul and I just had the most amazing Canada Day weekend, and it included a super last minute stay at the Marriott Waterloo St. Jacobs. We booked this hotel on a whim with our Marriott reward points (gotta use those points while ya can!!), and it was such an unexpected gem – so I’m sharing a few pictures and details today.

I wasn’t expecting to write a review, so you’ll have to excuse the fact that I only took a few photos!

If you’ve ever tried to redeem points before, you’ll know that selection can be a little limiting. For our points level, we only had five hotels to choose from that were within driving distance. The Marriott Waterloo St. Jacobs was only a little more than an hour away from where we live, and we choose it because it looked the nicest and neither of us had ever been to the popular St. Jacobs Farmers Market.

This property was recently renovated, and being a Courtyard Marriott meant the rooms were generously sized. The exterior of the building was so adorable, and kinda reminded me of something you’d see in Cape Cod.

The staff were super friendly, and Paul received an email to say that our room was ready for check-in around 11am – not bad service, right? When we arrived we were swiftly given our room keys, and a few minutes later I was sipping wine in our beautiful room.

After such a busy week the soft king-sized bed was very inviting, so I spent part of my afternoon indulging in the most glorious nap! We also made sure to take advantage of the convenient location, and walked to both the farmers market and the outlet mall.

We skipped out on the on-site restaurant, since some of my favourite Waterloo restaurants were less than 15 minutes away. If you’re ever in the area here’s a few restaurants I love:

Wildcraft

Bauer Kitchen

Charcoal Steakhouse

Dels Enoteca

Beertown
