Visiting The London Eye

When we started planning our trip to London, Paul had one requirement: visiting the London Eye! The London Eye is one of the city’s most famous attractions, and for good reason. Visiting the London Eye gives you an arial view of London, and a perspective that no other rooftop bar or restaurant can offer! We pre-booked our visit in advance directly through the London Eye marketing team, but you can book your ticket through their website.

There’s a few different ticket options available, but at a bare minimum I’d recommend getting the Fast Track Ticket so that you don’t have to wait in the extremely long line up! For only £4 more you can upgrade to the Champagne Experience. We opted for this upgrade on arrival, and it was well worth it. Not only did we each get a glass of champagne during the experience, but we also had less people in our capsule and had access to the VIP Lounge before our scheduled time.

After checking in at the desk, upgrading our tickets and waiting in the posh VIP Lounge, our hosts came to get us and the rest of our group. They escorted us straight to the front of the line, where we were swiftly transferred to our capsule. Up, up and away we went! While our hosts poured the glasses of champagne, we marvelled at the stunning view of London. One important tip I’d like to point out, is that I think it’s best to book the London Eye for your very first day in London! We found it incredibly useful to see London from above and really get our bearings before we started two days of sightseeing.

Of course the views were spectacular (what else would you expect!), but I also really appreciated the insight our hosts gave us during the 30 minute ride. They pointed out some of the coolest buildings in London (like the Google headquarters), and told us a few helpful tips about the city. Snapping pictures was easy to do thanks to the smaller group we had. The regular tickets include more people in each capsule, but the Champagne Experience included 10 less people which helped avoid any crowdedness! We also got a really cool map that labeled all of the buildings we could see from the London Eye.

Want another look inside our experience? Watch our London vlog from day 1 to get a glimpse at our experience visiting the London Eye! If you want to book your own visit, head to the London Eye website to choose your package and pre-book. I highly recommend the Champagne Experience, since it’s only a few pounds more than the fast track ticket.

We were welcomed to the London Eye as guests, however our opinions remain our own.
