One Outfit, Three Ways: Vacay Style

For our recent trip to Mexico, I tried out a new brand of clothing called Vacay Style. This resort wear collection include multi-wear pieces that can be mixed and matched for different outfits…. meaning, you can pack less and get more looks! The piece I brought to Mexico is the “St. Barts 2-Piece Tie-Dye Dress”, which include a maxi skirt and top in a matching print:

Here’s a look at the three different outfits I wore with this 2-piece set:

Maxi Dress

Worn together, the two pieces create a seamless maxi dress that’s fancy enough for a special dinner or event. I wore this outfit to the welcome reception for our wedding week at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita. What really impressed me about the design, was that the pattern of the top perfectly aligned with the patten on the skirt. Not a single person knew that I was actually wearing two separate pieces! This was a hot, sticky night in Mexico – and I felt cool and comfortable in this dress!

Top & Jeans

A few days later, I paired the top with a pair of white skinny jeans for a casual get together at our suite with friends. Having previous worn the top two nights prior, I had hand washed it in my bathroom sink and hung it to dry. It dried fairly quickly and no blue dye leaked from the material (impressive!). This outfit received a LOT of compliments.

Strapless Dress

Later on during our vacation, I wore the maxi skirt as a strapless dress while walking around Tulum. The weather in Tulum was even more hot and sticky, so I was thankful for the easy, breezy outfit that left me incredibly comfortable. Paired with my favourite Louis Vuitton Neverfull, this outfit felt very put together for the luxurious destination.

If I owned a plain white tank top, I would have also paired that with the maxi skirt to make a fourth outfit. After two weeks of wearing & owning this 2-piece dress, I would definitely consider adding more pieces from Vacay Style to my wardrobe! I would consider these to be investment pieces since they are such high quality and wash well. The timeless tropical designs are not overly trendy either, so these pieces can be worn for years to come!
