Whether you’re visiting Toronto from overseas, or just coming into the city for a weekend getaway, selecting the perfect hotel can make or break your stay. For me, that perfect hotel is The Ritz-Carlton Toronto. This property checks all the boxes for a must-stay hotel: great location, beautiful rooms, delicious food and welcoming staff. One of the best features of this hotel, is their Club Level upgrade which includes a dedicated concierge and a top-level lounge with complimentary food and beverages (and one hell of a view!). Keep reading to learn more about my recent stay, and find out why I think the Ritz-Carlton Toronto will be your new favourite hotel too.
I stayed in a “Luxury Deluxe Guest Room” on the Club Level. Our spacious room was filled with luxurious touches, but when I walked into the room the first thing I noticed was the floor to ceiling window that showed off a stunning view of Lake Ontario, the CN Tower and the
Skydome Rogers Centre (it will always be the Skydome to me!). The room came with a king-sized bed, lounge chair and desk that provided more than enough room for a weekend stay. The light, airy decor also gave the room a wonderful tranquil vibe that was perfect for my city staycation.
The ensuite bathroom was my favourite part of the room. The large bathroom mirror had a hidden built-in TV that made getting ready lots of fun! I caught the morning news while I was styling my hair before dinner, and I watched one of my favourite talk shows the next morning when I was doing my make-up. It seems silly, but it really made the entire hotel experience feel like a true vacation!
The Ritz-Carlton is well known for their incredible service and warm welcome, and the Toronto location was no exception. I received a gorgeous tray of dessert on arrival that included a piece of chocolate modelled after the CN Tower! If you look closely at the picture below, you’ll see a reflection of the real CN Tower on the desk ;)
The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto was ranked the #1 hotel spa by Travel + Leisure, so it’s no surprise that the spa is popular with both hotel guests and locals. This massive space feels tranquil and relaxing – the kind of place where you’d want to spend an entire day! During my tour of the spa I was shocked to see how busy they were in the middle of a week day, which just goes to show that you better make a reservation in advance. Between the wide range of available treatments and the complimentary relaxation lounge, you can definitely spend your whole day at the spa. What I loved most about the spa was the fact that they use Clarins products (which is what I use at home). They also have a “green tea infused vitality pool” that sounds like heaven! You can expect a full spa review from me in the near future – because I’ll be booking myself a post-wedding relaxation day soon.
The food at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto matches the high standard of the rest of the property. From breakfast at the Club Level Lounge to Peruvian appetizers at Ritz Bar – every meal I ate was delicious. Of course, their well-known TOCA restaurant was my favourite (I’m a sucker for Italian food) and somewhere I think everyone visiting Toronto needs to eat. I wrote an entire restaurant review about my experience dining at the Chef’s Table at TOCA – so be sure to check that out right here!
