Kelly Ella Maz The Walper Hotel Suite

Hotel Review: The Walper Hotel

Kitchener, Ontario is going through some serious changes right now – with new gourmet cafes and boutique shops popping up everywhere! It was only a matter of time until the thriving downtown community got a boutique hotel too – enter, The Walper Hotel! The Walper Hotel is a quirky hotel that’s big on style and undeniably chic. Friendly staff and bright, airy rooms made for a warm welcome, but the superb service and attention to detail is what will turn this hotel into your new favourite getaway.

When we arrived at The Walper Hotel I was blown away by the gorgeous lobby! Beautiful design and sleek touches made this trendy hotel feel like home. The smiling staff were quick to greet us, and chatted with us throughout the entire check-in process. This warm welcome instantly set the tone for a fun city getaway, and quickly put The Walper Hotel on my list of “fav Canadian hotels” – even before I had seen our room!

The rooms at The Walper Hotel are just as special as the service. Each room is different from the last, so you’re sure to find a room that perfectly suites you. Our suite felt more like a trendy downtown apartment than a hotel room. With high ceilings, exposed pipes and huge windows the space felt bright, airy and spacious. No detail was left unattended to in the design of this new hotel (including the plush mattress!), and the attention to detail leads me to believe that these rooms are going to look just as spectacular ten years from now. Not a single amenity was forgotten in the design of this room. The lush bathroom products, turkish towel bathrobe, and trendy magazine were just a few of the touches that made me feel welcomed.

One of the coolest things about The Walper Hotel is the unique way to serve coffee and tea. During the check-in process, the staff asked if we would like something to drink. About 5 minutes after arriving to our room, one of the front desk staff hand-delivered a paper bag with everything needed to make my own gourmet coffee in the room. Nice touch, right? Not only was the locally produced coffee a real treat, I loved the personal service of having the same front desk staff member bring the package to my room. Talk about friendly!
