Kelly Ella Maz Visiting Hilton Falls

Visiting Hilton Falls in Milton

In a never-ending quest to find Canada’s hidden gems I recently paid a visit to Hilton Falls, and it’s safe to say it won’t be my last! This gorgeous waterfall in located in Milton, Ontario and it’s the perfect place to escape the city and enjoy the outdoors for a few hours. I think one of the coolest things about visiting Hilton Falls is that there’s a fire pit near the falls where firewood is supplied. Imagine visiting on a fall afternoon and sitting by a fire to keep warm while enjoying the surroundings. It’s such a great way to make this space usable year round!

Unlike the popular waterfalls in Hamilton, Hilton Falls seems to be significantly less busy! When we visited we were the only ones at the waterfall, although we did pass a few other people walking their dogs on the trails. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet to unplug for a few hours and get away from the city, this is one of my favourite choices. The only thing I would recommend, is to keep in mind how the weather has been the last few days. If there hasn’t been any rain recently than this waterfall is more of a sad trickle than a real waterfall. We had experience some pretty heavy rain the day before our visit.

How to Get There

Hilton Falls is located in Milton on Campbellville Road. T’s super easy to get to because it’s right off the 401, opposite Glen Eden ski hill. Check it out on Google Maps.

Cost

$6.75 per person (adults). The price seems a little high for a local park, but that fee gives you access to all Conservation Halton parks for the day. Mount Nemo, Crawford Lake and Kelso are three other parks nearby that you could visit in the same day.

What to See

There are a few different trails, and they are all well maintained. You can walk, bike or bring your dog! There’s a few washrooms and picnic tables along the trails too. The highlight of course is the waterfall, which takes 20-30 minutes of walking to get to from the parking lot. Near the falls you’ll also see The Mill Ruins and a fire pit.
