Kelly Ella Maz Apart Hotel Iosefin Residence Timisoara

Hotel Review: Apart Hotel Iosefin Residence

Our trips to Timisoara involve a lot of time visiting with family, so it’s important to us that we stay at a centrally located hotel with enough space for Paul, myself and his grandma. Finding a hotel that meets these requirements is one thing, but finding a property that also meets my standard of luxury is another! Luckily for us, Apart Hotel Iosefin Residence came recommended by Paul’s mom and we’ve now stayed here on two separate occasions.

This summer, we stayed in a Business Apartment that was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate three adults. The unit included a bathroom, kitchenette, living room (with desk and dining table) and a large master bedroom. This set up is ideal for families, business travellers and anyone who plans to stay in Timisoara for a week or longer.

We loved having the extra living space, and the kitchenette allowed us to cook some meals if we wanted to. The local produce and cheese are particularly tasty in Romania, so we utilized the kitchenette to make fresh sandwiches and the occasional lunch! This wouldn’t have been possible at a regular hotel, which is one of the main reasons I love to stay here.

The living room is where we spent most of our time. Whether it was eating at the table, working at the desk or catching up on TV…. this spacious and comfortable room felt just like home! At night, the living room also served as a bedroom for Paul’s grandma since the couch pulled out into a bed. Another nice feature of this room is the huge windows that let in a ton of natural light. The view of Casa Bunicii’s garden below was a nice touch too!

The master bedroom in the Business Apartment is huge! It’s nearly the same size as the living room and it includes a ton of storage space. After two weeks of shopping in Europe, I really appreciated having all this space to clean out my suitcase and re-pack! The bedroom window also had a great view of the street below and the church across the street. This view was particularly stunning at night when the church was lit up!

Another huge benefit to staying at Apart Hotel Iosefin Residence is the fact that one of the city’s best restaurants is located at the hotel! Casa Bunicii is a great restaurant for sampling traditional Romanian dishes, like my favourite dish – Spatzle. In summer months you can sit outside on their beautiful terrace surrounded by gardens. The restaurant also has indoor dining, located underneath the hotel. This is where they serve the breakfast buffet each morning, and the cozy interior is a great place to dine during colder seasons.

For coffee or an evening drink, the hotel also has a cafe called Copa. They have outdoor seating on the sidewalk, making it the perfect place to relax and watch the bustling city come alive.

Another reason to stay at this hotel is the fantastic location. Everything you could possibly need is either a short walk away or a very cheap taxi ride away! The centre of Timisoara is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and the walk is very enjoyable as it takes you over Bega River and past the Cathedral.
