After 2 months in Bali we stayed in 21 different hotels. Some rooms were as low as $70 per night, some were as much as $2000 per night. We stayed in private villas, mega resorts and boutique hotels. We spent countless hours exploring, photographing and experiencing each of these properties in order to give our fellow travellers an honest review.
As far as hotel quality goes Bali has been one of my favourite destinations! We stayed in so many incredible places on the island that it’s actually a bit overwhelming for some of you to keep up with us. In order to make your Bali planning a little bit easier we’ve narrowed down our hotel reviews into a list of the best of the best!
Check them out….
Best New Hotel: INAYA Putri Bali Resort
This property just opened the doors on their private villas, and their butler services are the best we’ve ever experiences. Add in the fact that their chef is from Italy and you’ve got a fantastic hotel! INAYA Putri Bali Resort will be the hotel to watch in Bali for 2016.
Best Private Villa: Villa Kubu
This was by far the mod impressive villa we’ve ever stayed at! I loved the full-sized private pool, the outdoor living room big enough for 12 people and the beautiful outdoor bathroom. We loved Villa Kubu so much we never left our private villa until check-out time!
(Runner-up: The Wolas Villa & Spa)
Best Value Hotel: La Joya II Biu-Biu
With bungalows available at $81-$128 per night this place is a steal. They’ve got a million dollar view of the ocean from their infinity pool and this is the number one (secret) spot in Jimabran to watch the sunset each night. They even have a reasonable priced spa overlooking the ocean.
(Runner-up: Sri Ratih Cottages)
Best Luxury Hotel: The Edge
With spacious villas including a 5 bedroom unit that includes your own movie theatre and wine cellar it’s not hard to see why The Edge is Bali’s most luxurious property. Their 24 hour butler services, award-winning spa and complimentary private driver are the finishing touches on this stunning hotel.
(Runner-up: Villa Sabandari)
Best Food at a Hotel: INAYA Putri Bali Resort
With an Italian chef it’s no surprise we loved the food here. Every meal was incredible, from the Tasmanian Salmon to the Crab Spaghetti. Even the complimentary bread that comes with each meal is mouth-watering good! We topped off each meal with one of their signature iced teas. Delicious!
(Runner-up: Le Meridien Bali)
Best Location for a Hotel: Tandjung Sari
Tandjung Sari is a beachfront resort in Sanur, but it’s also located in the middle of the main street in Sanur. We were a few steps from the beach, walking distance to dinner restaurants and a short stroll down the beach for casual lunch cafes. Everything we wanted was within walking distance at this hotel, and we loved the convenience it provided.
(Runner-up: Samaja Villas Kunti)
Best Hotel Experiences/ Activities: Puri Gangga Resort
No hotel in Bali can compare to Puri Gangga Resort when it comes to experiences. One of my most memorable Bali experiences was during our stay when we visited a nearby water temple and ate an amazing lunch in the middle of a rice field. We finished off that day with a romantic dinner by the pool that I’ll never forget. Our stay at this hotel felt like the most authentic Balinese experience.
Best Resort: Le Meridien Bali
Multiple restaurants, a cafe, a stunning spa, gym, yoga classes… the list goes on and on. When you want a resort that has everything you need there’s nowhere better than Le Meridien Bali. Add in that award-wining service Starwood Hotels is known for and you’ve got an incredible resort.
(Runner-up: INAYA Putri Bali Resort)
Best Hotel Views: La Joya II Biu-Biu
The picturesque views at La Joya II Biu-Biu will make your jaw drop. We got these stunning views from the lounge area, the restaurant, the infinity pool, the cabana, the spa AND our bungalow. There’s no escaping these blue hues – which is exactly why this property wins for best views!
(Runner-up: Sunset Hill Ubud)
