Kelly Ella Maz The Pines Melaka Review Superior Room

Hotel Review: The Pines Melaka

Situated next to the river running through Melaka is a brand new hotel that blends modern design and luxury perfectly. The Pines Melaka is a stunning hotel that I instantly fell in love with. I loved the art, the beautiful furniture and the modern finishes. The fantastic location, free shuttle and smiling staff were the icing on the cake!

We stayed in a Superior Room that was way bigger than I expected for a city hotel. Our room opened up into a large living room with a kitchenette. The couch in our living room could be folded into a bed if needed – making it perfect for a family travelling with kids.

The kitchen had a table for two, which we used on multiple occasions when we ordered room service.  The kitchen also came stocked with coffee, tea, water bottles and a welcome plate of fruit. The modern design was very refreshing for Malaysia, and it instantly felt like home!

Our queen sized bed was very comfortable, with floor to ceiling windows beside it overlooking the river and the city. The blackout curtains were much appreciated, and very necessary in the early mornings!

Across from the bed was a large desk, TV and bench area next to the wardrobe. We had plenty of space to lay out our suitcases when it was time to pack, which is something we don’t always get at hotels around Asia.

The bathroom was compact, but came stocked with everything we needed. The custom made bathroom products were great quality and smelt divine. I particularly loved how the hotel showed a sense of humour with the wall decals in the shower symbolizing hot water from cold.

There’s both a restaurant and a cafe onsite, as well as a room service menu. Breakfast was included in our stay and was served in The Oak restaurant on the ground floor. Breakfast was buffet-style with a great selection of Eastern and Western dishes. Delicious fruit, yogurt topped with granola and made-to-order eggs were our go-to dishes during our stay.

As mentioned before, we also ordered room service during our stay from The Oak restaurants. Everything we ordered was delicious, delivered promptly and reasonably priced. We were very happy with our meals at The Pines Melaka! For a meal with a view they also have a cafe on the 8th floor with views of the pool and the city.

The 8th floor is also home to the hotel’s beautiful pool. With sweeping views of the city this huge pool is the perfect place to spend your afternoons in Melaka, away from the stifling hot streets! Pool towels are supplied, as are change rooms and plenty of sun loungers. It’s not hard to see why the pool is the most popular spot at The Pines Melaka!

Nearby the pool is a playground. I’m pretty sure it was designed for children, but that didn’t stop Paul from trying out the slide! The location of the playground is strategically placed across the pool. This is perfect for parents who want to relax poolside while their kids play nearby.
