We checked in at The Edge with high expectations and big smiles on our faces! After two months of travelling around Bali and Lombok we finally made it to this incredible hotel. After being picked up by our butler in a luxury SUV we were dropped off at the hotel lobby where the reservations manager greeted us with gifts! A beautiful custom fan and refreshing face mist to help us combat the Bali heat.
There was no check-in process to speak us. After a quick hello we were transferred to a golf buggy and shuttled to our villa. A week prior to our visit the butler had emailed us to confirm transportation, special requests, spa appointments and to request what type of welcome beverage we wanted to receive. We walked into our private villa and were thrilled to receive the mango mint coolers we had requested! So yummy!
The Edge currently has four different villas, and we were booked into the one bedroom unit called “The Villa”. I instantly felt at home in this villa thanks to plushy furniture and comfy bed. Our villa even came with the yoga mats and DVDs I had previously requested – which was perfect for sunrise yoga sessions by the pool!
The bedroom had an awesome TV situation with surround sound, unlimited movies, DVD player and an Apple TV. I told you this place felt just like home! Of course the garden views on one side and the sweeping ocean views on the other also made this room feel super luxurious.
The bathroom in our villa was stunning. Double sinks, rain shower, jacuzzi tub and two sets of closets. Not having to share a closet was a nice luxury to have for a few nights! The bathrobes and slippers provided with the room were of really high quality. The kind of hotel bathrobe you want to purchase for yourself to take home!
I also loved the Lanvin bathroom products, beautiful packing and another high quality product. The villa bathroom also comes with a bath menu where you can request your butler to draw you a bath. The most basic bath is complimentary but there are also some fancier options that would be perfect for a birthday or anniversary.
The outside of the villa had a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean and the rocky cliffs of Uluwatu. We had multiple seating areas, loungers and even a cabana – plenty of places to sit in the sun or in the shade too. The infinity edge plunge pool was a great place to cool off and also offered great views.
Our particular villa is frequently used for wedding ceremonies and it’s not hard to see why. The outdoor space is massive and the views are fantastic. If your private yard is big enough to host a wedding than just imagine all the space you have to relax in while vacationing!
Although the restaurant at The Edge hasn’t been built yet, they still have a fabulous chef preparing your meals from the kitchen. Your meals can either be eaten at The Bar by the main pool, or in the comfort of your own villa (which has it’s own dining room table). If you’re feeling really adventurous you can even eat your breakfast on a floating tray inside your private pool!
The food at The Edge is 5 star quality, but a few of our meals really stood out. The wagyu beef was the best beef we’ve ever had in Bali and melted in my mouth like butter! The smoked salmon blini was another delicious creation, as was the beef carpaccio. You really can’t go wrong with the food here, their chef is a mastermind!
The onsite spa is award-winning, and as a spa fanatic myself I was really impressed. The entire floor of the main section of the spa is filled with water! It was a really unique layout and the view of calm water underneath the massage beds is very relaxing.
Their signature treatments are the rituals. Two hours of luxurious pampering includes a body scrub, wash, wrap and an hour long massage. There are four different types of rituals that all vary in scrub ingredients and massage style. We started and ended our massages with some delicious juices and snacks. (For more details check out the video at the bottom of this article!)
As I mentioned before, there’s no formal restaurant at The Edge Bali but there is a bar with a few different seating areas near the main pool. You can order your food to The Bar, just as we did one day of lunch.
The Bar has a really cool glass floor and incredible views! This is also the perfect place to grab a refreshing juice before your spa treatment as The Bar and Pool are right next to the spa. Pictures from this area of the resort is really what sold me on The Edge! You really can’t beat looking out at the ocean from this bar.
The Edge also have a five bedroom private villa (yes, FIVE bedrooms) that we checked out during our stay since it happened to be vacant for one night. In addition to having an impressive number of bedrooms, this villa also has a private movie theatre and wine cellar!
I can definitely vouch for this theatre and say that it’s the most comfortable and luxurious spot to watch a movie in Bali! And that wine cellar isn’t too bad either! I absolutely loved that the wine cellar came with a cigar lounge of sorts where you can comfortable sit and enjoy a glass of wine in a completely different environment.

The team at Kelly Ella Maz were welcomed to The Edge Bali as guests, however our opinions remain our own.
