With an exotic welcome drink in my hand and a concierge letting me know about the complimentary massage and breakfast I must have had a huge smile on my face. But who can blame me? Arriving at Sri Ratih Cottages in Ubud was the start of a fantastic weekend!
The hotel is located within walking distance of Ubud Centre, and it’s also close to some of my favourite restaurants in the city. It’s an ideal location for anyone who wants to be close to all the action in Ubud!
We stayed in a Suite Room on the ground floor. It had beautiful garden views and a patio space with a couch and table. We enjoyed a few room services lunches on this patio because the garden views were just so tranquil.
The spacious room was filled with Balinese furniture, including a queen sized bed and entertainment unit. The wooden furniture is exactly the kind of stuff I’ve been seeing in local furniture shops that I’ve been dying to buy and send home. Every piece of furniture in our suite looked like art!
In true Bali-style it was the bathroom that was the focal point of our suite! The double sinks were made out of stone and the counter top was stocked with beautifully packaged bathroom amenities. There was a walk-in closet with plenty of space to hang up my clothes and a stunning bathtub. The stand alone tub had a dramatic rock wall behind it, and it was just waiting to be used!
The restaurant at this hotel is fantastic. The food is great and the location is beautiful. There’s three different areas to sit: the front area feels like a cafe, the upper level has beautiful furniture and great views and the lower level has a nice view of the oversized koi pond. Somewhere new to sit every day!
Breakfast was included and the choices were way above average. They had a wide range of options including everything from American-style to healthy muesli to Indonesian style rice dishes. Our lunches and dinners were equally as good, especially the cashew chicken!
I love the pool at Sri Ratih Cottages because the pool gets a good amount of sunlight all day long, yet a lot of loungers are in the shade thanks to the trees. It’s the perfect place to unwind after days of sightseeing in Ubud. There’s even a pool bar where you can order food and drinks!
Our stay included a 15 minute welcome massage that was absolutely divine. My therapist Tini gave me a memorable Balinese massage that focused on my head, neck and shoulders. Don’t hesitate to book a massage here – I promise you won’t be disappointed!
