There are so many sights worth visiting in Blue Mountains, but only one convenient way of visiting them all in one day: Blue Mountains Explorer Bus.
The Explorer Bus is the perfect solution. It’s an affordable Hop On Hop Off bus that runs a circuit around the popular sights in Katoomba and Leura. The comfortable bus was always on time, which made it easy for us to plan out our day and minimized waiting times. It’s a well-organized service that’s worth every penny.
We started our day in Leura Village where we caught our first bus. It didn’t take long until we were at our first stop, Katoomba Falls. It took us an hour to visit the Katoomba Cascades, the Katoomba Falls and walk back to the bus stop. We never felt rushed since the bus came every 30 minutes, so missing one wasn’t a big deal. 60 minutes was more than enough to see the sights we wanted to see at this stop and take lots of pictures.
When we got back on the bus we stayed on until the next major stop, Echo Point – home of The Three Sisters. Since there wasn’t a ton to photograph here we only stayed for 30 minutes, but people who are more adventurous would have the option of doing the 90 minute cliff walk from here.
After this we jumped back on the next bus and headed to Leura Cascades. This was one of our favourite stops with lots of spots for great photos. We had planned to walk from Leura Cascades to Gordon Falls, but that Australian sun is a killer and after spending half of the day outside we were beat!
No worries! We hopped back on the next bus and hitched a ride to Gordon Falls to save ourselves some time and energy. Gordon Falls was a lot smaller than Katoomba Falls, but it was really quiet here with almost no other tourists so it was very enjoyable. It was the perfect way to end our adventurous day!
We grabbed another bus and hopped off at Leura Village, just steps away from our hotel and an endless supply of restaurants to fuel our hungry bellies. It was an incredible day viewing Blue Mountains’ best sights and it never would have been possible without the convenience of Blue Mountains Explorer Bus.
