Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency Paris Charles de Gaulle

This was my second time staying at the Hyatt Regency Paris Charles de Gaulle, and I guarantee it won’t be the last.

When you’re looking for an airport hotel in Paris there’s nothing better than this Hyatt. Whether it’s your first night in Paris and you’re arriving late, or it’s your last night in Paris and you have an early morning flight… the Hyatt Regency is the most welcoming and comfortable hotel around. That being said, it would not be ideal to stay here for your entire Paris trip as it takes almost an hour to get to downtown Paris from this hotel. Due to a change in our travel plans we actually ended up staying at this Hyatt for 3 nights during our Paris press tour, so I’m quite familiar with both the hotel and the distance to Paris.

Our room was spacious, bright and felt like home. It had a big TV, a comfy club chair and a desk…. which gave us lots of living space for our long stay. The bed was just like every other Hyatt bed we’ve had. Absolutely heavenly, with oversized pillows and a big plushy duvet.

The bathroom was spotless, bright and came with tons of counter space. It came with plenty of amenities which were re-stocked daily. The bathrobes that were included were a nice touch, and certainly made our stay more comfortable. This size of this room and bathroom makes it feel like home!

Since we’re located by the airport there isn’t exactly great views from the hotel, and ours was of the parking lot. This being said, the floor to ceiling windows provided tons of natural light which was a nice change after staying in small downtown Paris hotels. It was also a pleasant surprise to see a nice sunset from the room!

Our room was cleaned daily, and every day that we returned to our room was found a wonderful surprise! The first day we had a welcome letter and two apple tarts. The second day we had an Eiffel Tower key chain and two lemon meringue tarts. Much appreciated, and much enjoyed!

The food at this Hyatt Regency is phenomenal, and of a much higher quality than any other Hyatt Regency we’ve been to. From the breakfast buffet, the restaurant and room service… it’s all fantastic. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet daily, and found that there was a huge selection. We also ate dinner here four days in a row, both at the restaurant and from room service. Their salmon is delicious, and we ordered it three different times. Their burgers and club sandwiches are also great, and good value. The pasta from the room service menu was pretty good, but the portion was way too big. I think it could have fed three people, and could definitely be shared!

During our stay we had access to the Hyatt Regency Club on the third floor. This lounge included free snacks and drinks, and it was filled with comfortable seating and a TV. We visited the Club at least once a day, usually in the evening, to enjoy a glass of wine while working. On our last day at the hotel we didn’t need to leave for the airport until 6pm, so we spent most of the day in the Club catching up on work and sipping coffee and wine. It was a wonderful amenity to have at this airport hotel!

The hotel is incredibly easy to get to from Charles de Gaulle, and a free airport shuttle runs every 20 minutes from the hotel and back. We used this shuttle to get to the airport on the days we needed to take the train into Paris, and on the day when we flew out of Paris. It was a comfortable bus and it was very easy to use.

I’ll highly recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency CGD if you ever need a hotel near Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. To book a room, check out their website here.
