Hotel Review: Hotel Palazzo Zichy

From the minute I walked into Hotel Palazzo Zichy I was impressed. The hotel is a stunning mix of historic and modern, located in the heart of Budapest. Through the glass entrance doors you’ll find a sleek reception desk. The staff are helpful and genuinely care. In fact, the service from all employees at this hotel is amazing.

Just behind the reception desk you can look down below to the restaurant. The ceiling above is glass, allowing this basement-level restaurant to be flooded with natural light. We ate breakfast here and it was the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had at a hotel. The selection was amazing, they had everything you could possibly want and it was all fresh. No stale croissants or bitter coffee here!

Just off the lobby there are three lounges. The first one is a modern sitting room. This quiet setting is the perfect place to catch up on emails while you wait for your taxi to arrive. The second lounge has a large flat screen TV and complimentary hot beverages and water are served here until 5pm. After 5pm there is a bartender in this lounge, and cocktails are available. The third lounge is located directly above the bar, and it’s an internet lounge where you can use computers and a printer.

After a smooth check-in and a quick visit to each of the lounges I was so excited to see my room. The ground floor of the hotel is simply spectacular and I knew the room would be just as good. I was not disappointed! My room was beautifully decorated in a sleek, modern decor. It was immaculately clean and a welcome plate of fruit was waiting upon arrival. After a long drive from Romania to Hungary this was the perfect welcome to Hotel Palazzo Zichy.

The room was decently sized and came with everything I needed, including slippers and bath amenities. The view from the window overlooked a beautiful church and the rooftops of Budapest. This was a quick reminder of just how centrally located the hotel was, perfectly situated in a quiet neighbourhood in the centre of Budapest.

Not only is Hotel Palazzo Zichy a beautiful hotel, but they have the most professional staff. The employees at this hotel is what really sets Hotel Palazzo Zichy apart from the rest. There’s no place I’d rather stay in Budapest than here! To book your own room, check out their website To see more from my visit be sure to check out the YouTube video below:
